Christmas Dinner 2023

On Thursday, 7 th December 2023, The Shropshire Society in London
held their Christmas Dinner at Origins Restaurant in Shrewsbury. Over
50 people were in attendance. Before the dinner commenced a one
minute silence was held for the students from Shrewsbury College that had recently lost their lives in tragic circumstances. A letter from H.M. The King, to the Society was read out during the dinner, which wished the Society well. Speeches were delivered by The President, Mr Mark Cuthbert-Brown CBE DL and the Chairman, Mr Graham Wynn OBE DL.

Origins Restaurant is a commercially run and licensed restaurant in
Shrewsbury and gives students the chance to work in a professional
setting. To quote from their website, “Led by qualified, experienced
chefs and front-of-house professionals, students learn about the
principles of cookery, compatibility of flavours, food service,
complimentary wines - all to make your meal at Origins an enjoyable
experience.” Origins holds the Highly commended Rosette award for the quality of its food and standards of service. It has been voted one of the top eight college restaurants in the country.
